CONNECT TO THE OCEAN
AND WITH NATURE

Resting Reef's marine sites are breathtaking and serene locations where the memorial reefs are placed to enhance marine life.

Our marine sites

Each memorial reef placed at one of our underwater sites creates a meaningful impact, for both marine ecosystems and coastal communities. Our reefs are designed to enhance native biodiversity, supporting fish, algae, corals, and more. In addition to the designs, bone ash, rich in phosphorus, has been scientifically proven to nourish new life. Beyond ecological benefits, these reefs also contribute to the economic resilience of local communities.

Our marine site options span from the tropical and clear waters of Bali and Mexico to the picturesque and historical coasts of Devon.

BALI

A tropical dream with purpose

Dedicate a Memorial Reef off Bali’s stunning northeast coast, where turquoise waters meet lush volcanic landscapes. Each reef is crafted by the local community, creating lasting tributes that will be cared longterm by the community.

A meaningful return to nature, supporting both ecosystems and coastal livelihoods.

Heaven on Earth

Located in Tulamben Village, our reefs are nestled within North Bali’s protected marine environments. Once affected by damaging practices, these waters are now the focus of our restoration efforts. Our memorial reefs offer a triple tribute: honouring your loved ones, revitalising the ocean, and supporting local communities in this rural region. Northern Bali, known for its volcanic black sand beaches and serene landscapes, remains less impacted by tourism, providing a peaceful and meaningful setting for our service.

While Bali may seem a world away depending on where you are, we chose this enchanting island for its rich history of marine biodiversity, making it an ideal and safe location for our Memorial Reefs. More than anything, we understand the importance of trust and care in handling your loved ones final tribute, that's why our team will personally be by your loved ones ashes at every step of the way, down to placing it underwater with our own hands.

PLYMOUTH

Resting Reef is planning to launch a Memorial Reef site in Devon, a coastal area renowned for its natural beauty and rich maritime heritage. With views of golden beaches, clear waters, and the Devon coastline, this location within Europe provides a peaceful and meaningful resting place for loved ones.

A Historic Coastal City

Located in southwest England, Plymouth sits on Devon’s coastline, just a short distance from Cornwall. Easily accessible by road, rail, and ferry, it’s a gateway to the South West. Plymouth is a historic port city, famed as the Mayflower’s 1620 departure point.

Areas of seabed in Plymouth Sound are in need of restoration, particularly north of the breakwater wall. By doing so, local marine species will benefit from the creation of new habitats.

MEXICO

Register your interest for our upcoming memorial reef in Mexico

Another of our Memorial Reef sites expected to be available for booking soon, will be located on the southern coast of Mexico (exact location to be defined), one of the most vibrant areas for marine life, local communities, and traditions. This location in the Americas offers a warm and uplifting setting to memorialise a loved one.

A unique coast full of meaning

The Memorial Reefs here will thrive within the marine ecosystems of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the second-largest coral reef system in the world. Once threatened by overfishing and coastal development, these waters are now at the heart of restoration. The region’s Caribbean waters, rich biodiversity, and strong legacy of conservation among local communities create a purposeful setting for memorial reefs.

We selected this location for its deep cultural ties to the ocean and the unwavering dedication of local communities and organisations to protect its marine life.
